  • We are not able to support DIY/Homeowner installer projects
  • We are not able to support SunPower systems at this time

Incentives & Benefits of Residential Solar Panels

Illinois SREC Adjustable Block Program

Solar Renewable Energy Credits provide a monetary value to the system owner when transferred in the Illinois Shines/Adjustable Block program. Each applicable SREC is awarded for every 1,000 kWh produced. This new incentive will provide a 15-year production value, typically paid within 12 months after installation has been completed.

Net Metering for Illinois Solar Energy

Net Metering: Another financial benefit with solar is net metering, which is the exchange of bill credits for overproduction sent back to the grid, typically during summer months. Net metering allows you to balance out the solar production for the entire year by utilizing the production credits in the winter months when the sun is lowest in the sky. In other words, you can think of the utility as sort of a free digital battery bank.
